Alan Smith serves as Executive Chairman of NEQ Operating. He is an Operating Partner at Quantum Capital Group and Executive Chairman of Rockcliff Energy III, LLC. A veteran energy executive with more than four decades of industry experience, Smith has built and led multiple successful upstream businesses in partnership with Quantum, including Rockcliff Energy II, QR Energy, LP, Quantum Resources Management, LLC and Chalker I, LLC.
Smith previously served as Chairman of the Texas Oil & Gas Association and was recognized as an All-American Wildcatter in 2017. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
David Harris is Chief Executive Officer of NEQ Operating.
Before joining the Company, Harris was most with Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE: DVN), where he held a uniquely broad span of executive leadership roles responsible for company-wide operations, M&A and business development, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Development Officer. Over the course of his career at Devon, Harris helped lead approximately $40 billion in transactions, including multiple portfolio repositionings and a central role in Devon’s transformative 2021 merger of equals with WPX Energy. Earlier, he served as Executive Vice President of E&P Operations, where he was responsible for Devon’s full upstream P&L while delivering best-in-class capital efficiency and operating performance across four basins.
Harris holds a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a bachelor's degree from The University of Tulsa.
